The scholar Skirej, may Allah have mercy on him, was a valiant champion in the arenas of dialogue and debate, particularly against those who denied the legitimacy of Sufi orders. In the mosques of Fez, he debated with firm resolve and unwavering faith, silencing his opponents with his sharp and irrefutable arguments, which remain a reference to this day.
Sidi Ahmed Skirej’s defense of the Tijaniyya Order was not limited to verbal debates alone; he made significant contributions to the written tradition as well. He authored numerous books and manuscripts that addressed misconceptions and defended the sanctity of the Tijaniyya with depth and authenticity. His contributions in this field include prominent works such as: “Qurrat al-‘Ayn fi al-Jawab ‘ala As’ilat Mu’allif Khabi’at al-Kawn”, “Al-Sirr al-Rabbani fi Radd Turahat Ibn Mayabi al-‘Ani”, and “Al-Sirat al-Mustaqim fi al-Radd ‘ala Mu’allif al-Minhaj al-Qawim”. These books courageously refuted false claims and misconceptions surrounding the Tijaniyya Order.
